Privacy policy

Short version: we don’t ask for your details, we don’t set tracking cookies, and if you email us we use your message only to reply.

What we collect

crypto.kiwi.nz is a static website. There are no user accounts, sign-up forms or comment sections, and we don’t set advertising or analytics cookies. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and troubleshooting; these are retained for a limited period and not used to identify you.

If you email us at contacts@crypto.kiwi.nz, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply and, where relevant, to correct our content. We don’t sell or share it.

Third-party services

Our NZD price calculator asks CoinGecko’s public API (and, as a fallback, CryptoCompare) for current prices directly from your browser. Those services receive the technical information any web request carries, such as your IP address. The calculator remembers prices in your browser’s session storage for about a minute so it doesn’t ask again on every page; nothing is sent to us.

When you click a link to an exchange or another external site, you leave crypto.kiwi.nz and that site’s privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see or correct personal information we hold about you — in practice, only emails you have sent us. Contact contacts@crypto.kiwi.nz. If you’re not happy with our response you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes

We will update this page if the way we handle information changes. Last reviewed 15 October 2026.
